Hello there! This is my twelfth year out at one of my favorite places in the world (10 years as a camper and 2 years on staff.) I was born and raised in Spokane, Washington but nowadays I call Minneapolis, Minnesota home. I go to Augsburg College and I am double majoring in history and theatrical performance and I am absolutely loving it. I am also planning on going abroad to Kolkata, India for between a semester and a year next year and I am so very stoked. I love camp and I am excited to go back to Coeur D'Alene this summer and have fun in nature with campers! I love working out at Sweyolakan and enjoying the magic that camp creates for anyone that experiences it. I look forward to making friends and having a wonderful time in a beautiful place! |

Hello! I love football and the outdoors. I am from the Tri-cities and I attend Kennewick High School. I will be graduating this year and going to college this fall. I will be attending CBC. I hope that when I grow up I can be a police officer. I chose this because I like helping people I also like making a difference. I think that most police officers do that. This is my first year at camp and I am excited!! I have gone camping before and know some things about the outdoors. I hope that while I am at camp that I will teach the campers about the outdoors and being their best. I chose to work at camp Sweyolakan this summer because I wanted to try something new and have fun. I hope I learn a lot from this camp as well. I know a lot about the outdoors but I don not know everything and would love to learn.

Hello! I have been told that I have one volume, loud! I go to school in sunny Sacramento California, but I am from the Seattle area in Washington. I go to California State University Sacramento where I am studying the cello and music education. When I grow up I want to be a music therapist and work with special needs children through music. I have been going to camp since I was 7 years old, this will be my 14th year at camp! This summer I am hoping to teach campers how to have fun without technology and that it is okay to be a little crazy and weird. Last summer was my first summer in 14 years of not going to camp and I HATED IT! so this year I am back to my summer home on Mica Bay :)

I was born and raised in New York, attend college in Indiana and met and married my wife of 18 years. Stephanie at a school for emotionally troubled youth in the woods of Middle Tennessee (we were counselors not campers). We have six wonderful children from ages 17 down to age 1. I have a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Indiana University and a master's degree in special education from Tennessee State University. I teach special education and social studies at Sandpoint High School and live up near the top of the state in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. I have many years of teaching left in me but when I do grow up, my wife and I would like to be campground hosts at a really cool park somewhere warm and sunny.

I live in Pullman, Washington (go Cougs!). It is pretty much the most boring town ever. I like being outside and hanging out with people. I love kids. I recently volunteered at a day care center. It was AMAZING! As of now I am currently enrolled in Pullman High School. When I grow up I want to do something that involves being outside or working with kids. This will be my 7th summer at Camp Sweyolakan and 1st on staff. I hope to teach campers how to have a good time and make friends without all that fancy new internet stuff and what not. I chose to work at camp because I love it there. I love helping kids. I love teaching and the feeling you get when you know you have influenced some ones life in a positive way. I hope to see all of you at camp this summer! |

Mr. Jeremy - Counselor
Hey there - I am currently a student at Spokane Falls Community College and plan to transfer to Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina in the fall. I enjoy playing tennis, Frisbee, listening to music, and working out outside, especially out at camp. I have been a camper and CIT at Sweyolakan for five years, a counselor for three years, a CA at Camp Dart-Lo, and a camper at a summer camp in Olympia, WA. The camping experience allows both the campers and counselors to be kids and provides youth with unique experiences and opportunities for achievement that they would not otherwise have. I choose to work at camp for the positive impact it has made on my life and the lives of all campers. Looking forward to an exciting summer!

I stayed up with an injured bird for 24 hours my cat Pia had gotten ahold of, I gave it water and soggy bread every hour. A friend started saying I was predictable so now I wear mismatched socks. I am fun, energetic and love kids. I am huge on golfing and that's what I want my career to be in. I am going to the University of Idaho and study Professional Golf Managment. Afterwards, hopefully, I can design courses.
This is my 12th year at Camp Sweyolakan. I am from Deer Park. I love doing community service it makes me happy and that I am helping our world become a cleaner better place. One day I want to go to Africa and teach children. My biggest dream is to grow up and have a husband and 4 children, hopefully one set of twins. After my children move out I want to let my house open to foster children and take in teenagers and help them get back on their feet. Once I am done with that I plan on moving into a cottage with my husband and living out a fulfilling happy life.

Miss Li Li - Counselor
Hey there! I love singing, playing guitar and photography. Anything with chocolate will capture my attention! I was born in the Ft. Lewis Army Base in Tacoma. Because my dad is in the Army, I've moved around a lot. Including a few years in Japan! By camp, I will have finished my sophomore year at Eastern Washington University. When I "grow up", or in a few years, I hope to be teaching wonderful kids at an elementary school. I use to go camping a lot as a Pathfinder when I was younger, and Camp Sweyolakan was the first camp I went to after a very long time. But once is all it took for me to want to come back! I hope to teach the campers how to enjoy the simpler things in life and to appreciate the relationships they have and will make. What better way to spend your summer?!

Miss Starr - Business/Store Manager
WoHeLo campers! I have been coming to Camp Sweyolakan for 13 years, 10 as a camper and 3 as staff. During camp you will most likely find me up in the Camp Store, shopping and socializing. Camp Sweyolakan is such an amazing place, full of history, adventure, fun, friends, and the great outdoors. It really is something special, like nowhere else on earth. I'm so excited to be a part of this experience, helping to mold each camper's future. I enjoy sharing it with my daughter, who is also a fellow camper and Senior CIT.
When I'm not at camp, I drive a school bus. I absolutely love my job, working with kids everyday is the best. I'm involved with 4-H and Cheney High School Equestrian Team. But when I have a little time to myself, I like to spend it with friends over a cup of coffee or a quiet afternoon watching a movie or reading a book.

Mr. Wiseguy - Nature & Outdoor Specialist
I am a freshman at Portland community college in Oregon. My hobbies include gardening, outdoor skills as well as being an avid reader. But, my true passion is working with children to further there understanding of nature and how to survive in the wilderness. I graduated from the Sweyolakan Counselor in Training program two year ago and have been going to Sweyolakan as a camper for eight years. I feel that everyone benefits from camp and should go at least once in their life. Camp is something special; it is a community of people thrown together that become like family. Camp is a place to laugh, cry, smile, and have fun. It has its ups and downs, like life, but I would not miss it for the world!
