For the past several years Camp Sweyolakan has utilized its Camp Boat - The Carbon Copy - to transport campers across the lake for pick up on the last day of each session at our Camp Landing. This posed logistical challenges for families and as our camp continues to host more campers the Landing will no longer be a viable option for pick up. We are excited to announce the return of the "Big Boat" and welcome all our families to Independence Point or Spokane Community College for both drop off and pick up of their campers!
Camp Sweyolakan is a “boat-access” only camp located on the shores of beautiful Mica Bay. This makes transportation planning on the first and last day of your child’s session crucial. Please read the following information carefully and don’t hesitate to contact us with questions.Transportation sign-up will be available upon registration. If your transportation selection was not available to you at the time of registration, log into your account and update it any time up to 2 weeks prior to camp.
Transportation is available for Spokane campers via a private motor coach to and from the Spokane Community College Parking Lot. The private motor coach will transport campers to Independence Point in Coeur d’Alene to board the “Big Boat.” Families are requested to be at the SCC Lot at 6:30AM on the first day of camp; the motor coach will depart at 7:00AM. On the last day of each session, the private motor coach will transport campers from Independence Point and arrive at the SCC parking lot at 11:45AM. Our staff will ask to check your photo identification and verify that you are listed on their Camper Release Form. You will be asked to present your ID at pick-up, so please be prepared. Private motor coach seats must be reserved at a fee of $12.50 per camper per direction so please make your decision early!

After you register, complete the Transportation Form at least two weeks prior to camp to let us know your transportation plans. You can change your selected transportation options at any time by logging in to your account, up to two weeks before the camp session starts. We ask that you not change your transportation within two weeks of camp, or during the camp session. Space is reserved in vehicles and on the “Big Boat” based on the number of campers registered. In the case that your transportation needs change inside 2 weeks or you have questions, please contact the Camp Fire Office.
In the event of delays, camp will be in communication with the Camp Fire Office. Road construction and traffic are generally the cause of delays, but it can be merely the time it takes to change campers from the boat to the bus and move the luggage! Depending on the location of the delay (bus and/or boat), every attempt will be made for a staff member to be stationed at the pick-up/drop-off location(s)to inform parents of the situation and the estimated time for the bus/boat to arrive.
