Summer Camp Hiring
Camp Sweyolakan and Camp Dart-Lo depends largely on the quality of its staff and volunteers. Staff’s primary objective should be to PUT THE KIDS FIRST.
We strive to hire a staff with a variety of backgrounds realizing the potential for growth and development both in the campers and staff. It is our mission to find enthusiastic men and women who have a desire to work with kids in an outdoor environment.
If you love to work with kids and can be enthusiastic in everything you do, you are the kind of camp staff member we want. If you want to work in an atmosphere in which you are helping kids, working in the outdoors and having one of the best summers possible this is the job for you.

ACCREDITATION AND STANDARDS
Camp Sweyolakan and Camp Dart-Lo are accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). This accreditation is the most widely known and accepted standard to the industry and signifies compliance with rigorous standards in administration, site and facilities personnel, program, trips, transportation, health and safety. Both camps also adhere to standards developed by the national Camp Fire organization as well as our local council Board of Directors.

APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS
1. Complete the online application. Applications will be considered incomplete until all required references and copies of relevant certifications arrive. Applicant must also complete Background Consent and Voluntary Disclosure Statement online information.
2. Completed application will be screened and scored based on previous experience, responses to essay questions, references and certifications held, in accordance with Camp Fire and ACA standards. You may then be contacted for an interview.
3. Attend the new, Year ‘Round Training sessions offered for any and all people interested in working with youth. See the individual camp’s Facebook page for details.
4. Selection is based on application scores, interview scores, background check and participation in Thrive Initiative training. Candidates offered positions will receive a job description, staff practices and guidelines, and additional information about staff training, etc.
REQUIRED REFERENCES — 3 references are required from all applicants.
Exception: 2014 Camp Staff – you only need 1 new reference from someone who is not previous reference writer.
