Camp
Fire USA Starflight Program
For boys and girls, Kindergarten through 2nd grade
The Program
Starflight, the beginning level of Camp Fire's group program, features
opportunities for youth to learn skills in a variety of activities.
The program is organized around the five Camp Fire Trails:
- The Environment
- Creativity
- Knowing Me
- Family and Community
- The Future
Members work toward completion of one project in each of the areas, which
excite and educate young children on a wide range of topics. In addition,
there are a variety of national and council projects available.
What Do Kids Learn in Starflight?
- To appreciate nature, to protect the environment, and learn beginning
camping
skills.
- To be a contributing member of the community.
- To develop a healthy self-image, and to make and keep friends.
- To have confidence, learn safety skills and explore their world.
- To have fun.
When and Where Does a Group Meet?
Each Starflight group meets on a regular basis, planned to fit the schedules
of its members. Meetings may be weekly or every two weeks, at a member's
home, school or other location.
