For boys and girls, Kindergarten through 2nd grade

The Program

Starflight, the beginning level of Camp Fire's group program, features opportunities for youth to learn skills in a variety of activities.

The program is organized around the five Camp Fire Trails:

  • The Environment
  • Creativity
  • Knowing Me
  • Family and Community
  • The Future

Members work toward completion of one project in each of the areas, which excite and educate young children on a wide range of topics. In addition, there are a variety of national and council projects available.

What Do Kids Learn in Starflight?

  • To appreciate nature, to protect the environment, and learn beginning camping
    skills.
  • To be a contributing member of the community.
  • To develop a healthy self-image, and to make and keep friends.
  • To have confidence, learn safety skills and explore their world.
  • To have fun.

When and Where Does a Group Meet?

Each Starflight group meets on a regular basis, planned to fit the schedules of its members. Meetings may be weekly or every two weeks, at a member's home, school or other location.
