Leadership Training 2007
Program Aides in Learning!
Prerequisite for Counselor Assistant

JR PAL's
Grades 6-8
3-week program

Two weeks of leadership training, team building and adventure activities, and camp program skills. One week hands-on experience leading young campers. Maximum 12

SR PAL's
Grades 7-9
2-week program

Advanced training in behavior management, camper characteristics, teaching camp activities and a "live-in" experience with a camper group. Must have previous JR PAL training or be going into at least 8th grade. Maximum 12

Camp Buddies
Grades 6-9             Sessions 2 and 6

Campers interested in assisting youth with special needs may apply.   Be a companion and friend to a "You Bet I Can!" camper and together enjoy camp.  Training is required: 

Counselor Assistants (CA's)
Grades 8-12

Graduate PALs and teens in at least 10th grade may apply to volunteer. Get hands-on experience leading young campers and time to develop skills and friendships with peers. Also, pool CAs for teens interested in leadership in aquatic programs.

New!  STAR Program  ( Service Training & Recreation)

For grades 9-12

Learn to shine like stars in service leadership and recreation with your friends. Choose from 3 different teams, each 3 weeks long, kicking off with a white water rafting trip.  Works for service-learning hour requirements. 

• Team Orion - Sessions 1 and 2
• Team Hercules - Sessions 3 and 4
• Team Gemini - Sessions 7 and 8
