Frequently Asked Questions

Camp Sweyolakan

Resident Camp

Camp Dart-Lo

Day Camp

Q.

When do I drop off or pick up my child for camp?   Q. Can I change the bus stop I originally signed up for when I registered?
A.

Please select the correct number of nights your camper is attending camp.

My child is attending:

  • 3-night (Fri-Mon)
  • 3-night (Tues-Fri)
  • 4-Night camp
  • 7-Night camp
  • 11-Night camp
  A. Yes.  Please call us and we can change the transportation assigned for your camper.  If it is during your session, please call camp at 466-2312.
Q. Is it too late to register for a specific session? Where can I get that information?
A. Please check out the Session Schedule and Fees section.  We have made notations where we have full sessions or limited availability by age groups.
Q. Is it too late to add my camper to the bus coming from Spokane to camp and/or back home again?    Q. Does my child need to bring a sack lunch every day?
A.

No.  Please call us as soon as you decide this is an option you want.  The bus meets at the Spokane Community College parking lot on Mission and Greene at the times noted on the appropriate transportation sheet.

  A. Almost every day.  Each week, camp has a cookout.  If your camper is going into the 3rd grade or below, their cookout will usually be on Thursdays.  If your camper is going into the 4th grade or above, their cookout will usually be on Friday.
Q. Does my child need to have a physical by his/her doctor?
A.

Not this year.  We have revamped our Health History Form.  We recommend that campers have a medical exam within the last 24 months, but it isn't required.  Remember... bring the health form to the bus or boat with your child---do NOT mail or bring to the Camp Fire office.

Q. What days are the Extra Spicy Options?  I need to know so I can have my child dress appropriately.
A. Please check out Camp Dart-Lo's Extra Spicy Option page on the website.  Each scheduled date is listed under the option.  These dates are tentative and may be rescheduled during the session or cancelled due to low registration.
Q. Is it too late to register for a specific session? Where can I get that information? Q. Do I really need to include my child's shot record?
A. Please check out the Session Schedule and Fees section.  We have made notations where we have full sessions or limited availability by age groups. A. If at all possible--yes.  We want to have as much information as possible to ensure your child is happy and healthy.  If you absolutely cannot find a copy, please write in the record section that the camper is up-to-date, if that is the case.
Q. How do I contact my child at camp? Q. Can I register for only one week of a two-week session?
A.

You can send your child a letter to:

  • Camper's full name and unit/grade in fall

Camp Sweyolakan

Marine Route

Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814

  • or fax one to:  208 664-4857
  • or e-mail to:  campsweyolakan@gmail.com
  • In case of emergency, you may call camp at 208-664-9327.
A. No.  If you want to attend only one week of a two-week session, you must register and pay for the whole session, then choose to be absent the week you don't want.  (No credit for unattended days.)
