All About Camp Fire USA

Camp Fire USA builds caring, confident youth and future leaders.

Camp Fire USA, with national headquarters in Kansas City, Mo., is one of the nation’s leading youth development organizations. Founded in 1910, the organization serves both boys and girls in 40 states and the District of Columbia. Our mission is “Camp Fire USA builds caring, confident youth and future leaders.”

735,000 Annual Participants

Many of our 735,000 members participate in traditional club activities while hundreds and thousands of others are served by our camping and in-school programs. Camp Fire USA's outcome-based programs include youth leadership, self-reliance, after school groups, camping and environmental education and child care.

120 Camp Fire USA Councils

Camp Fire USA provides all-inclusive, coeducational programs in hundreds of communities across the United States. Serving youth from birth to 21, Camp Fire USA helps boys and girls learn - and play - side by side in comfortable, informal settings. Our coed programs allow parents to consolidate schedules for both their daughters and sons.

Our trained staff and volunteers, using carefully constructed national curricula, lead participants through programs that are enjoyable and beneficial to youth of all ages and that encourage exploration in a safe atmosphere.

Camp Fire USA welcomes all children

As the first nonsectarian, interracial organization for girls in the United States, Camp Fire USA takes pride in its long-standing commitment to providing fun programs and services to all children and families in America. We are inclusive, open to every person in the communities we serve, welcoming children, youth and adults regardless of race, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, sexual orientation or other aspect of diversity. Camp Fire USA's programs are designed and implemented to reduce sex-role, racial and cultural stereotypes and to foster positive intercultural relationships.
